About the RCWA

There is no life without water. A creek that we can swim in and eat from is both our right and our responsibility. The Rondout Creek Watershed Alliance was founded to restore the Rondout Creek and its tributaries to their  prime, to act as the voice of the Creek, and to advocate for the protection and improvement of the watershed by increasing community awareness and implementing collaborative conservation efforts.

The Rondout Creek Watershed Alliance’s mission area includes all tidal, non-tidal and upper Rondout Watershed communities. If you live in the Town of Neversink, Town of Wawarsing, Village of Ellenville, Town of Rochester, Town of Marbletown, Town of Rosendale, Town of Esopus, Town of Ulster or City of Kingston please consider joining us.

What People Say

“…what better place for a watershed group than the Hudson’s largest tributary? This year, Riverkeeper worked with our longstanding Rondout Creek community science partners to create the Rondout Creek Watershed Alliance.”

Jen Epstein, Riverkeeper

What matters to me is that cleaning up a section of the creek does make a difference: visually, in the health of the creek, and in my heart.

Sarah Underhill, RCWA Member

“When I was young we’d go to Deep Hole on Towpath. I’m grateful…to make our water clean again. Being able to swim is part of what makes this area great.”

Laura Finestone, RCWA Member

Let’s build something together.
